Juanba Nadal - Bass and 2nd vocals
Born on October 9th, 1980 in Valencia, Spain.
From the village, Xeraco, Juanba began his studies of tenor saxophone at the age of nine, and later he turned his interest and talent to the bass. He began his musical career as bass player in bands such as "Legend", "Sabaöth" and "Outer Heaven", later becoming the bassist and second vocal of Dragonfly as of 2003.
Equipment: Amps, Ampeg SVT 4 PRO head amp, EBS Evolution Pro Line 2000 4x10" cabinet. Basses, MusicMan Stingray5, Ibanez EDA 905 Ergodyne,Tobias Pro U.S.A., Spector and Washburn XB 400 Bantam. Effects: Line 6 XT BASS PRO, Line 6 Floorboard.
Influences: Queen, Billy Sheehan, Gammaray, Angra, Nightwish, Edguy, Lost Horizon and Mike Oldfield.
Personal reflection: Recently Juanba has also made a number of covers, earning a rightful place among multi-talented musicians. One of the most trying and difficult cover has been of Lost Horizon's "Cry of a restless soul". As Juanba once said; "Their singer is so good that it will be difficult to replace (him). He has an amazing voice..."
Well, all we can say is that Juanba made an outstanding effort and just for the sake of comparison, both versions (original and cover) can be found among the songs below. Being ranked among the most aggressive bass-players in Spain, he can now also rank himself among the most amazing metal-singers; with a tinge of metallic sound in his broad vocals and a vibrato to die for... simply hats off.
Juanba is has a great deal of drive within and not leaving things to chance. He has had several projects prior to Dragonfly, but also at the side of Dragonfly, proving that he is a versatile musician.
